Red Dog Glades / Resort Chair
Palisades Tahoe

About this zone
Red Dog Glades and the terrain off Resort Chair are Palisades’ go-to tree zones when you want to get off the main lanes and ski by feel. It’s a true mix of intermediate and advanced lines, with enough variety to keep strong skiers entertained without everything feeling like a mandatory send. The trees break up the slope nicely, so you can pick tighter or more open spacing depending on what you’re after.
Best When
Cold powder days are the move here, especially when the north-facing trees are keeping snow light and protected. This zone often stays in play when the weather is active, and the tree cover helps with contrast when visibility is sketchy elsewhere. It also rewards a little patience and poking around, since you can usually find less-tracked pockets here after more obvious terrain has been skied out.
Watch Out For
Beware the curses of lower elevation; warm storms and late season can make this zone less fun. Some sections get surprisingly steep or dense, so be mindful when you're exploring a new area. Rocks exist too in Poulsen's Gully.
