About this zone

Mountain Run is classic intermediate terrain and one of the resort’s main thoroughfares back to the base. It’s wide and usually groomed, which makes it reliable when you just want to get down, but it also means it funnels a lot of traffic and can feel more like a ski highway than a zone you go to for a quiet lap. If you’re looking to keep it interesting, you can usually find small bits of texture and side features along the edges without leaving the comfort of the main run.

Best When

This is the default choice when you want a predictable, groomed descent or an efficient route back to the bottom. It skis best when you’re happy managing traffic and just want smooth corduroy, and it can be a good place to cruise for casual laps or to regroup. In spring, Sun Bowl tends to be the play when things start to soften and you’re looking for that forgiving, corn-friendly feel.

Watch Out For

Expect crowds, mixed ability levels, and plenty of beginners, especially when the rest of the mountain is pushing people onto the groomed option. The biggest hazard here is speed management and blind-spot awareness around merges and slower skiers. If you’re tempted to open it up, don’t; it’s an easy place to get your pass pulled, and it’s not worth it.
