KT West
Palisades Tahoe

About this zone
KT West is the less prominent, rowdier sibling of KT East. Where KT East spreads out, this zone stays compact and dense, with tight chutes, trees, rocks, and plenty of natural features that keep the skiing technical and focused.
Best When
After a cold, low-density storm when you’re hunting preserved soft snow, especially on its northwest-facing lines. It can also be a good spring option once the snow has had time to settle and the surface has come into shape, but it’s at its best when you’re looking for short, intense laps in more protected pockets rather than wide-open cruising.
Watch Out For
Very steep, high-consequence terrain with cliff bands, narrow entrances and technical drop-ins. Wind scouring and wind slabs are common on ridgelines; hidden rocks and punchy sun bumps can appear quickly.
