KT East
Palisades Tahoe

About this zone
The east side of KT is the classic in-bounds big-mountain look: wide, open faces under the chair that make everything feel on display. It’s an expansive zone with a reputation for steeps, cliffs, and technical lines, from the Fingers through GS Bowl and into McConkey’s. GS and Women’s are the more reasonable ways down, but this is still advanced terrain where line choice matters and small mistakes can get expensive.
Best When
This zone is a good call when you’re looking for morning sun and a bit of early-day warming, especially when the rest of the mountain is still riding cold or firm. It can also ski well during storms when KT is spinning and you want high-consequence terrain close to the lift without needing to wander far.
Watch Out For
Expect steep, open pitches with plenty of rocks and cliffs, plus sections where a fall can run a long way before you come to a stop. Even on the more straightforward routes like GS and Women’s, it’s easy to drift into something you didn’t mean to ski, so keep your head up and manage speed and exposure.
