The Backside
Northstar

About this zone
The Backside is where Northstar’s advanced skiers go for long, sustained fall-line laps. The pitch stays honest without feeling chaotic, and the zone mixes gladed lines with cleared trails, so you can bounce between tighter tree skiing and more open turns depending on what the snow is doing.
Best When
This zone is at its best after a cold storm, especially when temperatures stay low enough to keep the snow from getting worked over. With the right window, you can still find soft pockets lingering in the glades and along the edges a day or two later, even if the main lanes are getting tracked.
Watch Out For
The cleared trails can build deep, leggy moguls once traffic ramps up, and they can set up firm if temperatures swing. Up high, pay attention around rock formations and steeper rollovers, especially in flat light or early season when coverage is thinner.
