Promised Land
Northstar

About this zone
Promised Land is the Backside’s quieter companion zone, with a more intermediate lean. Expect a mix of blue groomers and gladed lines through medium-spaced trees, the kind of terrain that lets you keep moving without feeling overcommitted. When the Backside is getting worked and lift lines build, Promised Land is often the more efficient place to rack up laps and find less-tracked snow in the woods.
Best When
This zone is at its best right after a cold storm, when the groomers set up smooth and the trees hold soft, sheltered pockets longer than the more open terrain nearby. It’s also a good call on windy or low-visibility days when you want protection and clear reference points while still skiing solid, sustained runs.
Watch Out For
The trees tighten up lower in the runouts, where speed and traffic can funnel you into narrower gaps. Keep your spacing in the woods, watch for hidden obstacles in the lower-density light, and don’t assume every line stays open all the way down.
