Timber Creek zone

About this zone

Timber Creek is the mellow, lower-mountain zone centered around Timber Creek Express. It’s the most approachable part of the resort, with a base-area feel: ski school, services, and quick laps on wide groomers. The terrain is mostly moderate intermediate, with one true beginner option off the lift and a mix of smooth corduroy and lightly gladed lines you can dip into and out of. Nothing steep or committing—just relaxed, efficient skiing.

Best When

This zone shines when you want low-stress laps, clean groomers, or a warm-up day. Its mostly north-facing aspect helps preserve snow quality for a lower-elevation area, especially midwinter. It’s a solid choice for cruising, skiing with mixed-ability groups, or checking out the terrain park. It’s also a useful connector: if you drift too far skier’s left from Sentinel, Palisades, or Reuter Bowls, Timber Creek is where you’ll naturally end up, with an easy route back toward Cornice.

Watch Out For

Vert is limited, and the skiing stays on the tame side, so strong skiers looking for challenge may get bored quickly. The trees are skiable but tighten up and aren’t especially forgiving. Being a base-area lift, Timber Creek can feel busy, especially with lessons and park traffic. Late season or warm spells can hit snow quality faster here than higher zones.
