Tamarack
Heavenly

About this zone
Tamarack is a largely intermediate zone centered around Tamarack Lodge near the California–Nevada border. It’s a convenient, no-fuss place to rack up laps, meet up with your group, and ski predictable terrain without committing to anything big.
Best When
Mid-morning after an overnight freeze, when the lower groomers start to soften into consistent, carveable snow. It also holds up well for a day or two after a colder, lighter storm, when sheltered, treed lines tend to keep snow quality longer than more exposed areas.
Watch Out For
Because it’s a popular junction and staging area, lift lines and traffic can build quickly, and the snow gets tracked and polished sooner than quieter zones. Around the lodge and main runouts, expect fast-moving skiers and some mixed conditions as the day wears on.
