Great groomers at Alpine

It was an overcast groomer day at Alpine January 19, 2026.

Snow quality was good to start the day. I'd call it chalky - firm, with give, and not icy.

By 10:45am or so, the snow started getting sloppier. Conditions off Summit were firmer as expected.

We didn't venture too far off-piste. The portions where we did held similar conditions to a few days ago - "crème brûlée", as someone in our group described it. Firm but breakable.
